With the help of trained volunteer role models from the community, Junior Achievement shows young people how money, careers, and business ownership work.
Junior Achievement of Northwest Florida announced today the date and location of its annual sporting clay shoot fundraiser, Pull for Kids. The event is on Friday, April 27 at the Santa Rosa Shooting Center from 8 a.m. to noon.
Four man teams are $500 and a variety of sponsorship opportunities are available. The registration fee includes a light breakfast and lunch.
Junior Achievement (JA) is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating young people about business, economics, and free enterprise. Simply put, JA teaches kids how money, careers, and business ownership work.
JA’s programs are taught by classroom volunteers from the local business community. These volunteers serve as role models and mentors to our school children. JA is proud that 20% of its alumni choose a career path similar to that of their JA volunteer. This is one significant statistic that reinforces that value and effectiveness of the JA learning model and teaching materials.
In Northwest Florida, Junior Achievement programming is available in K-12th grade classrooms in Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Okaloosa Counties at no cost to the schools or students.
In the 2016-2017 school year, Junior Achievement of Northwest Florida reached over 2,600 students with JA curriculum in over 200 classrooms in 34 schools with the assistance of 157 volunteers from the local business community.
The funding raised at Pull for Kids is invested in programming materials and volunteer training that support JA efforts in financial literacy education in local schools.
