About JA of Northwest Florida

JA Core Purpose: To inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.

Junior Achievement of Northwest Florida partners with business people who volunteer their time in our local schools. Using a nationally-developed curriculum and hands-on experience, they help young people understand the economics of life.

Junior Achievement programs help prepare young people for the real world by showing them how to generate wealth and effectively manage it, how to create jobs which make their communities more robust, and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace. Students put these lessons into action and learn the value of contributing to their communities.

JA Works

Independent studies show that Junior Achievement works. Students who participate in JA programs for five consecutive years demonstrate significantly more critical thinking and job interviewing skills. Even one exposure to a JA program gives a student a greater comprehension of economics and business. JA students score higher on objective-referenced tests, are more likely to attend college and have a more positive self-concept and higher self-esteem.

Funding

Funding for Junior Achievement programming comes solely from grants and corporate and individual donations.  JA is fully dependent on businesses, organizations, and individuals who believe in supporting our mission.  We are always looking for community partners who believe in the potential of young people.
